A short while ago a took delivery of a small pond yacht in need of some serious TLC, so the first thing to do was to carry out an assessment and take a few photos for future reference. The first thing was to remove all the fittings before sanding down the deck prior to remarking all the plank line details, this was then stained and sealed to finish. With the deck now finished I could move onto the hull starting with removing all the old varnish until the original surface was visible, this as you can see from the photo certainly took some time to achieve. Once the hull had been prepped I could then re-varnish using a coloured varnish before finishing with a clear gloss varnish, once fully dried I then re-attached all the hull fittings that had been previously

Now with the hull finished I could move onto the masts and rigging, the first task was to repair the main mast, bow sprit and main boom including the detailed fixings on all three. Once the masts etc had been finished the next job was to make the sails form scratch (wife's job) when these had been finished, they could be re-attached and fully rigged thus completing the restoration.

The final job was then to make a bespoke stand that matched the hulls colour this certainly adds to the overall finish.

Overall this restoration although testing in some areas turned out perfect in the end.
