Back in the summer of 2015 I took delivery of a fishing boat model in need of some TLC; the model itself was of some considerable age and of great sentimental value to its owner. The remit for the job was to restore the model whilst maintaining its aged look; this was to prove to be quite a challenge but well worth the effort. The first task was to work out the actual layout of the deck area so the fittings could be replaced or repaired this was straight forward enough and when completed the deck area was re-varnished to enhance the overall effect. With the fittings now complete I could move onto sorting out the superstructure and the rigging which again although a little fiddly all worked out in the end, the final task was then to very carefully touch up the hull etc and re-varnish to finish off this restoration.
Overall this was a most rewarding job and will hopefully be admired for years to come.
